Kamp
Social pressure, stadium energy and micro-detail shaped into a soundtrack where crowd and close detail carry the conflict scene by scene.
Narrative frame
Project context
A case in how sound can steer social tension inside a recognisable, realistic environment.
Kamp is a Danish short film by Rod Ibsen, produced by GotFat Productions. Set during a national football match in a packed stadium, the story follows Robert and his two friends as casual banter turns into something more hostile, forcing him to choose whether to clearly speak up or stay aligned with the group.
According to DFI and Filmcentralen, Robert tries to tone down what his friends insist is “just a joke”, but the tension escalates until he has to decide whether to clearly object or stay silent. That makes the film a strong case in social pressure, group dynamics and value conflict inside a recognisable, realistic environment.
Sound work
Process and approach
Foley, perspective and crowd design treated as one integrated dramatic track.
The soundtrack had to balance collective energy and social discomfort. The stadium needed to feel physically loud and believable, while still leaving room for the subtle shifts in Robert’s hesitation, attention and moral pressure.
I treated foley, sound design and mix as one integrated track. Close detail in clothing, movement and props added body and immediacy, while crowd design, space and perspective shifts supported the group dynamic. The goal was to make the pressure of the environment tangible without losing dialogue clarity.

Work scope
Foley, sound design and mix
This case represents the part of my practice where physical detail work and narrative mix discipline need to meet inside the same scene.
Environment and pressure
Crowd + social tension
The environment is not just background information. It acts as a dramatic force that closes in around the character.

Editorial note
Sound designer’s note
Julius Sylvest
On Kamp, it was crucial that the audience could feel the group pressure inside the space at all times. The soundtrack should not merely describe the stadium, but make it feel like something that slowly closes in around the character.
