Service Bus
An award-winning animation where sound design and original composition are built as one shared rhythmic and tactile system.

Project context
A case in how animation demands complete world-building through sound.
Service Bus is an animated short created by animators from VIA University College in collaboration with sound design students from Sonic College. I handled sound design and original composition, focused on tactile detail and a clear dramaturgical rhythm.
The case matters because it shows a workflow where sound and music are developed as one coherent narrative system rather than two separate layers.
Process
From empty image to sonic body
Animation has no natural sound bed. Everything needs to be designed, weighted and timed.
The challenge was to create a complete sonic landscape that feels organic and credible while the original composition supports the dramatic arc.
Built layer by layer: ambiences, foley and textures combined to give the animated world tactile presence. The composition was written to picture, focused on mood and pace.

The score was written to picture with focus on mood, pacing and dramatic propulsion.
