About Julius Sylvest

I'm a sound designer and composer based in Copenhagen, focused on film sound, composition and immersive formats — from stereo to Dolby Atmos 7.1.4.

I work dramaturgically: sound decisions should create clarity, rhythm and perspective in the narrative. That means precise detail where it matters, and deliberate restraint where silence carries the scene.

My practice is grounded in both music and postproduction. I translate musical understanding into a workflow that is disciplined, delivery-safe and easy to collaborate within.

I'm trained as a sound designer (Professional Bachelor's, Sonic College/UC Syd) with a track in advanced media production and sound for animation. My bachelor's project explores spatial sound in documentary: perceptual coherence and context sensitivity.

In 2025, Service Bus won Best Animation at the Ekko Shortlist Awards, and Wild Child won the Robert Award for Short Film of the Year: Fiction/Animation. I also handle foley and sound design on the feature Welcome to the Moon in Dolby Atmos.
