Project context

The Match (Kamp) is a Danish short fiction film by Rod Ibsen. Set during a national football match in a packed stadium, the story follows Robert and his two friends as casual banter turns into something more hostile, forcing him to choose whether to clearly speak up or stay aligned with the group.

Challenge

The soundtrack had to balance collective energy and social discomfort. The stadium needed to feel physically loud and believable, while still leaving room for the subtle shifts in Robert’s hesitation, attention and moral pressure.

Approach

I treated foley, sound design and mix as one integrated track. Close detail in clothing, movement and props added body and immediacy, while crowd design, space and perspective shifts supported the group dynamic. The goal was to make the pressure of the environment tangible without losing dialogue clarity.

Result

DFI credits me on The Match as foley artist, sound designer and mixer. It is a strong example of the part of my practice where foley, narrative sound design and final mix need to work closely together in realistic social scenes.
